The US based cybersecurity company Palo Alto networks extended its security features to Nutanix cloud clusters for Microsoft Azure. The cloud platform and service-providing firm Nutanix will now be protected by the VM-Series virtual next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) provided by Palo Alto networks.
Increased security features for Nutanix
BMaaS for Nutanix
With bare metal-as-a-service (BMaaS) security, the power of the cloud can be enhanced. Moreover, it is designed collaboratively by Nutanix and Microsoft teams, making it custom-made for the needs of Nutanix cloud clusters for Microsoft Azure with Nutanix flow virtual networking. It would enable working seamlessly from on-premise or from Azure for sharing and working better across cloud platforms.
The overlay networks deployed with virtual private clouds inside the flow of virtual networking would allow having a virtual firewall for enhanced security. It requires no additional licensing or Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and works across all virtual machines. These features would enable extra speed and value for private cloud, public cloud, and on-premises data.
Assurance from the Palo Alto Networks
Since the product is configured, monitored, and managed by Palo Alto Networks Panorama firewall management tools, it extends network security with a single pane to manage it and shift interfaces as needed. Users can manage the security and physical data centers.
Helpful threat monitoring abilities
After cybercriminals bypass security features, lateral movement across systems will be stunted with micro segmentation or managed virtual-machine-level software firewalls. It would render protection with options to include lateral, east-west, network traffic, and perimeter network security. Security would further be enhanced with a unified security policy approach. It would also offer increased visibility on the virtual networks.
External traffic reaching subnets and VMs of the VPC traverse through the VM-Series virtual firewall enabling high security from threats. The security policies are available in the flow virtual networking VPCs section.
