At GITEX GLOBAL, The Cyber Express spoke to Trevor Dearing, the Director of Critical Infrastructure Solutions at Illumio, who explained why Zero Trust — a security strategy to prevent breaches and secure organizations by micro-segmenting data and removing implicit trust — is important for companies.
Trevor Dearing is an experienced and award-winning professional with over 15 years of experience in engineering, solutions development, product marketing and channel development in the networking and security industry. Dearing has worked closely on various cybersecurity tools and concepts such as switching, virtualization, security, data center fabrics, behavioral analytics, data center security, and the cloud.
Speaking to The Cyber Express, Dearing shared how, in the recent past, attacks on the healthcare industry have increased. “There is a huge increase in the attacks on healthcare. Even in the first half of this year, the rise was about 320%.” When asked about Zero Trust Segmentation, Dearing discussed the two principles by John Kindervag, who began work on a zero-trust model. He also elaborated on the challenges of Zero trust network access.
