In this issue of the Security Pill, we have Hitoshi Kokumai the founder and the chief architect of Mnemonic Identity Solutions Limited which was set up in the United Kingdom in August 2020.
Hitoshi pioneered the Mnemonic Identity Solutions project to make logging in more secure and advocates ‘Identity Assurance by ‘Our Own Volition and Memory’. He also seeks to promote the concept of Expanded Password Systems (EPS) based on unforgettable images across the globe.

In a candid conversation with The Cyber Express, Hitoshi shared how episodic image memory can help save the day when a user is trying to log in under stress or panic.
He further described the pathos of soldiers who are on the battlefield and cannot resort to biometrics under unforeseen circumstances. He called the episodic image memory “panic-proof” and “hard to forget”.
Before building the expanded password system, Hitoshi worked as a contract business development coordinator in the United Kingdom. He has over 23 years of work experience in the field which includes serving the U.K’s export. Hitoshi also actively participated as a business coordinator for science research and development collaborations for an operation in Japan related to industrial research limited of New Zealand between 1994 and 1999.
An Economics faculty graduate from Kyoto University, Hitoshi intends to get back to his homeland to promote the identity authentication solutions.
