Despite their claims, the official website currently shows no evident signs of a cyberattack having occurred.

Honey Birdette, a prominent luxury lingerie brand based in Australia and owned by the PLBY Group, has long been coveted for its exquisite offerings. However, the Honey Birdette data breach have sparked apprehension about the safety of customer information stored in the company’s databases.

The Honey Birdette data breach comes at a time when Honey Birdette has been actively promoting its Cyber Monday sales. The brand took to Twitter to announce the sale’s details, marking the conclusion times across different global time zones.

The 8Base ransomware group claims to have executed the data breach on November 28, 2023, with intentions to publish the compromised information on December 5, 2023.

The dark web post, which has garnered around 200 views, includes a range of sensitive documents such as invoices, receipts, accounting records, personal data, certificates, employment contracts, and a substantial volume of confidential information.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the threat actor has set a deadline for the publication of the data, creating a sense of urgency. The countdown stands at 5 days, 9 hours, 4 minutes, and 53 seconds from the time of the initial posting.

Seeking clarification on these claims, The Cyber Express has reached out to Honey Birdette for an official statement. However, as of the time of writing, no response or statement has been received, leaving the veracity of the data breach unconfirmed.

Who is the 8Base ransomware group?

8Base, the ransomware group allegedly behind this breach, emerged on the scene in April 2022 and quickly gained notoriety for its aggressive tactics targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across various sectors.

The group’s identity, methods, and motivations remain shrouded in mystery, with some speculation linking its verbal style to that of RansomHouse, a group known for purchasing already compromised data or collaborating with data leak sites.

This is an ongoing story and we’ll update this post once we have more information on this alleged Honey Birdette data breach, or any further updates or clarification from the organization.
