Threat actor Anonymous Sudan is running a “Cyber Monday Sales Offer” for its Skynet Godzilla DDoS botnet sale. There are also speculations regarding the health claims of the hacker group’s founder and their financial difficulties being the actual reasons behind the Anonymous Sudan Skynet Sale.
These claims are most probably a dramatic ploy to increase sales of their DDoS service, “Skynet,” particularly in context with their most recent “Cyber Monday Sales Offer.”

It is very uncommon for a hacker gang to offer DDoS attacking tool as a service. Cybercriminals generally develop them for their personal use in conducting cyber-raids on unsuspecting victims. Anonymous Sudan is promoting its tool by telling their audience that this is the tool they have used in most of their attacks.
The Anonymous Sudan post on the dark web notably referenced “theirs” without specifying any names throughout the message, leaving the identity of this entity ambiguous.
Additionally, the group mentioned merging their tool with another, potentially creating a more potent combination. However, it remains unclear what advantages buyers of the Skynet DDoS service might gain from this enhanced tool.
The gang provided their pricing details and set the deadline for the offer until November 28. Anonymous Sudan offered access to Skynet DDoS at $100 for a day, $600 for a week, and $1700 for a month.

Skynet, a DDoS service provided by Anonymous Sudan, has showcased its capability by launching attacks on several prominent targets. Notable victims include tech giants such as Apple and Telegram, cloud services like Azure, cybersecurity vendor Sucuri, content delivery network StackPath, and gaming giant PlayStation.
Intent Behind the Anonymous Sudan Skynet Sale
The Cyber Express contacted a cybersecurity expert at Cyble, who commented, “The endorsement of tools and services by hacktivists is a common tactic adopted to garner more subscribers and the collective computing power and bandwidth available for launching DDoS attacks increases, potentially enabling larger and more impactful attacks.”
He believes that playing a health victim card is often rewarding in the hacker community and not a new tactic, but considering Anonymous Sudan’s infamy, this may work in their favor.
According to the expert from Cyble, “Anonymous Sudan has gained notoriety among the hacktivists by targeting prominent organizations with overwhelming DDoS attacks. In such a scenario, any such endorsement of tools/services by Anonymous Sudan would have endorsement benefits both monetarily and gaining larger subscriber base.”
The expert also added that collaboration for and endorsement of DDoS services is a tactic to promote their influence in the hacking community. Moreover, they are more impactful on script kiddies that idolize such hackers and aspire quick name to ill fame.
As the cybersecurity concerns keep getting bigger across the world, open calls for selling malign services and collaborations for malified actions raise eyebrows among cybersecurity enthusiasts. It is high time that governments and businesses should keep cybersecurity concerns at the top.
